Feature Requests

The forest light filter adds so much dimension to a map, but when part of the map is a city, it ruins the effect.

I’d love to request a feature that lets us save custom filter settings, as well as save adjustments to default filters—similar to how we can favorite stamps and textures. Currently, I find myself copying filter settings between maps and having to manually reset them each time. Being able to save filter settings would make things so much easier! This feature would also bring the filter tool more in line with some of the more updated tools, making it feel more streamlined and efficient.

I love using your tool first of all. I've used it quite a lot in my D&D campaigns and I also have used it a lot to borrow maps from others since, lets be honest, sometimes we don't have the time or energy to make our own makes. The cloning feature is great for that. But I think your website falls short in the search engine department. It could use more filters for one, such as what map packs were used. I think the most glaring issue for me is that I can't search for cloneable maps while at the same time filtering by style. It's either one or the other for some reason? So if I need a battlemap that I can clone, I have to either search with the battlemap filter and sift through the results until I find a cloneable one, or filter by cloneable and sift through the results looking for a battlemap. It's very unintuitive. On top of that, I'm not sure if I'm just wrong, but it often seems like the search engine doesn't always display all results. I'm not sure if its just me, but I feel like when I search "Evil Temple" in the search bar, and filter by battlemaps, I would probably get more than three results, so I don't know what's up there. But yea, other than that, great tool, just need to work on that engine more. Thanks!

A filter, stamp or alpha texture that blurs/distorts the things beneath it so that it looks like they are underwater. Ability to change intensity as well.

Stamps or brushing to define areas in the map where one or multiple filters do not take effect. Useful for night scenes when the light shine should not be darkened. (example edited with Photoshop)

The ability to place the center of a spotlight filter where I want it would be nice. I don't always want the spotlight in the center of the map.

Colour Balance, RGB Curves and Value Correction, so one can have more control over the general feel of your map. This would help to fit the colourful art style better for darker campaigns. The already cool filters (Saturation, Clarity, Blue filters,...) would profit a lot from just a little more versatility when it comes to controlling the values of the final picture. Specifically I am thinking colour balance, which allows you to add/subtract RGB depending on the values of a picture. I've included a screenshot, that shows how I was able to get a lot more distinguishable lights and shadows by using Value Correction and Colour Balance. I used colour balance to give the darks more blue-ish hues and the lights more red and yellow hues which did a great job separating the areas! In the mid tones I just subtracted a little green from the scene. In the end I used tonal correction to add just a little contrast. And voilá: It is easier readable, more vibrant and I had full control. I'd love to see this feature in Inkarnate and I'm sure you would love it too :)

The ability to rotate/flip filters (For instance, the ability to change the direction of God Rays so they originate from the top right instead of the top left)

The different special effects should be able to be added regardless of what map style I choose the same way I can bring in stamps from any map style. The world, regional, and isometric maps have very limited effect overlay options :(
