Zoom tool automatically sets a selected object to center

If I have an object selected, I would like the zoom tool to automatically set it to the center of the screen when I zoom so I don't have to pan around after zooming to find the object again. I know I've used other programs where this was standard for zooming and it creates a more seamless workflow.
