Request from Discord (Nepeta): "Having more tables and shelves is always great.
I would probably never use the stocked shelves, though. They are pretty shelves and I would love to have them modular and empty. But the filled ones are too randomly cluttered for my taste.
Books that stand upright without anything to hold them up?
Four single potatoes next to the bottles on the top shelf?
Napkins and straw flowers next to candles? Fire-hazard! I would not necessarily put candles on those shelves at all.
Baked goods lying on a shelf, without anything to wrap them into? I mean, a shelf that is so cluttered does not get cleaned every day, it would be dusty.
Its also a lot of books for a tavern, which might only own one or two cook books.
Random books and scrolls on maps are always a bit of a problem, because the players are going to want to check them all out, even though they are just decoration (the bartender could be hiding a necromantic tome in plain sight!). Same with the hidden pouch on the corner shelf - it would be much easier to add a pouch ourselves than to explain one away and thus disappoint the players.
Disappointing the players is the real problem, I think - Inkarnate allows for such beautiful and detailed maps, my players like to look at them. And then I would have to say: "This is not there" - "That is not there." To avoid this, I would have to create more "boring" shelves myself. A lot of work to make something less interesting.
There are parts that I like, though - the baked goods shelf and the dishware shelf are going to come in handy, and I like the part of the stocked shelf inside the blue line. Because it conveys "tavern" without being distracting."
