Deselect button for all objects
There is a deselect button for lines and shapes, but not for stamps, text, paths, and groups. I would like to be able to deselect these items without having to find an area with no stamps, text, paths, or groups to click on. This is especially important since I can't change what types of objects I can select when something is selected.

You can press esc to unselect, or do I misunderstand your scenario?

Philipp I have just tried out using the escape key and it does work, which is great! That makes this a lot less urgent. However, I do still wonder why lines and shapes have a deselect button, but nothing else does?

Fay Onyx The Deselect is mainly there for the node and portal mode where you need to select a stroke/shape for editing.
