Cyberpunk Industrial District pack

On this post you can leave any general feedback about this new style we’re working on.

The post also features individual areas of the map, allowing you to share feedback specific to those parts (see links below). Make sure to upvote the ones you like the most!

The industrial district is part of a much bigger megacity that finds itself in a dystopian and very dangerous cyberpunk world. Here you will find a wide variety of different areas and facilities, such as:

  • State-of-the-art factories, fully automated by robots.

  • Toxic labs are run by various criminal groups, gangs, and wealthy corporations.

  • Bio labs that are in pursuit of perfecting human body capabilities, they clone body parts, or even fully conscious humans.

  • Harbors, where the biggest illegal shipment, and most of the drug trafficking takes place.

  • Bullet-fast trains are the fastest way to deliver shipments within the continent. Be careful, as they often become targets of wheeled bandits.

  • Industrial vehicles, such as autonomous trucks, fork lifters, and other types of maintenance machinery.

  • Warehouses, they stock all the resources and manufactured goods. Also, they are often used as headquarters for gangs.

What do you like about this style and assets?

Is there anything you would like to see differently?

Do you have any other general feedback to share?

What do you like about this style and assets?

I like the versatility of the assets I could create so many maps with just the assets here.

They're very inspiring and its well on the way for allowing me to run a cyberpunk campaign to the same standard as my D&D games

Is there anything you would like to see differently?

So far looks amazing, for the Cyberpunk theme, taking a quick look a industry you might consider, some additions to name a few:

    • Trash and waste containers

    • Generic/advertising neon signs, pink, purple green red etc

    • Machine gun turrets

    • Anti aircraft weapons

    • Guard robots/droids

    • Futuristic motorbikes

    • Tents and other makeshift homes

    • Nasa space exploration rocket

Do you have any other general feedback to share?

For the most part Cyberpunk is mainly overcrowded multicultural urban mess, loves a good bar, food stalls and neo lights everywhere. The other part is luxury futuristic theme then the polar opposite to that you have desolate mad max style motorbikes and vehicles gangs/nomads.

I applaud you all going in this direction. I'd like to give some constructive criticism. I understand you're trying to balance the look of industrial and sci-fi while trying to keep the look from being starkly different from the fantasy vibe. I think you can take this style a bit further towards sci-fi. A. Sharpen the lines a few degrees more. Even though you're going for the grunge-industrial look the lines are too muddy and shapes blur into each other. This defeats those wonderful angular shapes and makes them look rounded and soft. B. The dominate colors in your example are ocher, grey, and blue (from the lights). You could consider using colors associated with more synthetic or factory made materials. White (or dungy white) for poly-plastics (you did some on the twin rotor hover craft and it looks great). Apply that to other things like structures, conduit, etc.; bright grey for steel. C. Add more edge lighting. An example would be to replace the dashed yellow painted street lane dividers with lights. Replace painted symbols, like the helicopter landing pad with luminescent lines. Don't be afraid of pushing the sci-fi look a little more. This is what we've been asking for and we're excited to see you're making it happen. All the best.

    1. I am not a big fan of the "hand-drawn" style. This is sort of like the current "watercolor" style, and I prefer the higher "realism" look of the Battlemap 2.0 style.

    2. Needs more neon glow. Take the existing Light stamp and offer more shapes, such has half-circles.

3.Ground texture is very nice. I like that the most.

    1. Offer some grandiose statues and pillars with a modern twist. Corporations love to intimidate with wealth and opulence - it's not always all about the gritty.

    2. Ditto with "regular" office space. Where those wageslave work is clean and pristine.

On the whole, going in the right direction.

This is incredible for cyberpunk! I'm in love. but I WANNA WRECK IT!

Damaged buildings to get the sense of a warzone for your more dystopian or grim dark settings would be very helpful. We also will want corporate style things for your true cyberpunk settings.

I'm very excited for this update!

Peacey: The more destroyed structures and stamps we can get, the more unique things we can create, and especially in a sci-fi setting, ruins are more interesting. After all, what dastardly plots can happen in the future for an entire place to be destroyed or abandoned?!

Hey, these look wonderful! I am very excited and looking forward to the new style release! 😊 I quite like the train, harbor and labs aspects of the map, alongside everything else!

Just judging by the presented image(s), some of my thoughts, as it is still in development:

    • I would love to be able to build a cyberpunk city street, or even a neighborhood - for chase scenes, encounters in public, etc… So maybe some assets that could represent storefronts, kitchens/restaurants, entertainment district/club/gambling/, living quarters, megabuildings etc…

    • And of course the classics - neon signs, glass surfaces, elevation platforms and similar atmospheric assets that help sell the "otherness" of this reality.

Thank you very much for always developing Inkarnate - I've been using it for over 3 years now and it always feels wonderful and fresh!

While all this is great and you probably are already working on it. There has to be places of sci-fi luxury like emperors living quarters and gardens protected by glass in unlivable planets/places.

Loving all this stuff fellas! Particularly the vehicles and the harbor, but all of it is dope! Anything else you can think of in the way of building large city districts would be superb, like assets for commercial strips (stores, banks, restaurants/food stalls) and utility buildings like gas stations and mechanics shops (bus/train stops & stations too perhaps) would be wonderful as well. Otherwise this is amazing already!

I Love what's here. This would fit well into any kind of shadowrun game for asthetics. What I would like to see as well are sleek and clean assets like you would expect to see in the star trek universe or some of the halo universe. I'd also like to see more alien assets as well something you'd expect for something for a setting like the Darkmatter setting in 5e which has a sci-fi interpretation of all kinds of creatures for elves, dwarves, orcs, gnomes and such.

It's a lot of stuff, I know, but what other people have been saying is pretty much what I expect. basic textures and general assets to get us by while more stuff is added over time.

The aesthetics I hope to see in the future are as shown here.

UltraDelta: Thanks, glad to know I'm not the only one actually wanting aliens too…

I hope these amazing drawings find their way into the new material! : ))

looks good as a mini map/city map, but not like it would be good as a battle map. As others have pointed out, thinner borders would be good to make it look less cartoony and some more detailed assets would be great, unless they are part of another more detailed map style.

Besides that this map looks great.

I think this looks awesome! The biggest ask for me would just to give all your Sci-Fi assets a very versatile and generic feel. I'm sure that's easier said than done, but players will be using these to build maps for everything from Cyberpunk to Star Wars, so having a widely usable set of assets is ideal!
