Brush Tool: Ellipse Shape Ring

I remember this being something you could do with the old brush. Instead of filling an entire area with a texture, you could "invert" the circle to only be a ring. I cannot find that option anymore with Brush 2.0. If it still exists, I would love for someone to tell me how to achieve this again.
