A "Find & Replace" feature allowing users to replace all objects on a map (or an area therein) with a different one. For example: Replace all Pine Trees with Snowy Pine Trees.

If you want to create a winter themed map out of a summer one, a easier way than deleting all of stamps and replacing them whit the winter ones would be a replace feature. If you right click the stamp in the menu, you would have the option to replace this or all of the same stamps.

This feature is just the solution for a problem I had recently. I frequently make maps of the same place in different states of destruction or repair and it would just save me a lot of work if I could replace stamps on a map. I’d love that! :)

We will start with a simple replace tool that replaces all instances of a stamp in the map, or all stamps in a selection with a selected stamp.

I think the best way to implement this would be to use the object list beneath layers. Was just thinking about a similar feature when i found this.
The way this would be the most smooth from a user perspective (i think at least) would be if you could just search your object list for f.ex "stone temple walls" and rightclick the selected objects, choose replace (or swap or what ever) and then you could get a list of the possible swaps for that item.
Choose the one you want, and bam, you have redesigned the look of your temple etc.. (or changed the season)
Obviously there are only so many things you could swap one object stamp with considering many of them are relatively unique, but walls and tree's have many similar packs that could correspond.
(though it would also be fun it you could jailbreak it and choose any stamp, "wait this isn't a city, its a forest!" :P)

Yes please! I really, REALLY can't count how many times I liked the position of certain stamps but wanted to see how others would look there! This happens often when you're trying to edit someone else's map.

I would greatly appreaciate this feature. For example: Currently I have to switch the snowy mountains to the grey ones, as they stick out too much. As I painted the terrain accordingly (to extend them and make the world feel more cohesive) I can't just place new ones. The grey ones are the same shape, but replacing them by hand is a lot of work.

Can you elaborate on what you mean with transform items into something else?

Philipp: Yeah, sorry, i'll try to make it clear :
Select a bunch of, say, pine trees and transform them into other type of trees, or dead ones. or even any other type of objects, skulls, walls. Mountains to snowy mountains, dunes, etc
Philipp
Aesyr: So basically replacing them by other stamps?
A
Aesyr
Philipp: Yep !
A
Aesyr
Philipp: Randomness in the replacement would be great
