Mask Effect Options for Battlemaps Styles
in progress

The Musical Rogue
With the release of 2.0, mask effect options were removed for battlemaps styles.
Many members of the community have voiced they would like to have them returned across social media platforms
This could be accomplished by reintroducing the mask layer on launch, or by being able to add a layer with mask effect properties.

RESTORE THE MASK/LAND TOOL FOR BATTLEMAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so absolutely disappointed and enraged that the Mask/Land tool has been removed for battlemaps. Not only does this mean that you can no longer make lakes and rivers with edges that cause shadows and make for really pretty insertions, but you must use the stupid addition of adding a brush layer and erase things, only for it to look like utter garbage with no lineart to showcase that it looks like it was actually a lake and not just erasure, it makes you lose quality. I have literally no desire now to MAKE battlemaps as this just ruins so much of the process - well done Inkarnate dev team. This is a huge disappoint and I hope that you take these requests to heart and reinstate it for battlemaps, because this is just freaking ridiculous and disappointing.

Return of the Mask/Land Tool

Please re-add the mask/land tool for top down/all maps. It is much easier to plan out any kind of map, and it is difficult to navigate with everything condensed into the brush tool.

Bring back the dig tool

why did you take the dig tool away? it was the fastest and most effective way to make rivers, lakes, islands and so on. now you have to go through shapes and you can't get the same result. especially when you are trying to make that jagged edge that the dig tool allowed you to do. huge change and not sure why.

Bring back the old mask/land tool across all maps

The option to use the feature in battle maps as well as region maps made Inkarnate the map maker site I chose, this removal of it is absolutely ridiculous and makes your map lose quality
Such a disappointment from a website I trust with my DND maps

We will add them back. By default they are still hidden, but it will be possible to add a land layer with layer masks to any map style

Yeah, this feature was so good to make caves and underground complexes without having to do shadows for walls. I am right now using the regional style to make battlemaps for I can use the tool there.

So I can't have shadows and outlines on my layers now? It was so useful for battlemaps. Huge loss.

This tool was really great for simple and quick dungeon and tunnel maps. It made it very easy to distinguish between the foreground and the actual background. Having the option to have more layers is great, and will be using that more often to distinguish different verticality, the mask tool made it seamless without the need for the line tool, where it didn't feel right to use.
