You've created a stamp group and copy pasted it out 200 times. Now you realize that you don't like the brightness on one of the stamps in the group. Instead of changing that stamp in all 200 groups you would be able to change it in one group and click "update all group instances". This updates the change you did to all 200 groups at once.
