If you want to cpy something somewhere else, you can copy and paste it or ctrl+c / ctrl+v to do that.

If you want to have two of the same thing on top of each other, you cant use duplicate.

What is the point of duplicate then? Whats the difference?

Making duplicate, duplicate in place in the same spot will make a lot of things much easier.
