This would alleviate the need to upload assets, which would have a plethora of benefits for both the consumer and your company:
  • Consumer no longer needs to spend time uploading assets
  • The only limit to assets would be how many the customer can stuff into their PC storage
  • Frees space wherever Inkarnate stores user uploaded assets
  • Adds significant value to Desktop App usage
  • Powerful feature making Inkarnate even more desirable over other TTRPG Map Making softwares
  • Whatever else you can think of to add here to make this idea look more attractive and want to add it.
One potential way for this to work is the addition of a Folder added by the application where the customer may place assets for use.
For example "C:\Program Files\Inkarnate\Assets".
Additionally It could be possible to make it so that if a Folder of assets is added into the Assets folder, it reads as a Pack for easier sorting.
For example "C:\Program Files\Inkarnate\Asset\Asset-pack-1" would show in app as an Asset Pack with the contained PNG files as the assets.
Then an option in app is added to select which assets are Stamps or Textures etc.
Alternatively, an option could be added to allow the user to select which folder Inkarnate reads as the Asset Folder, giving them the freedom of having the assets stored wherever they wish on their PC.
