To ensure the integrity of content and respect for art ownership, we've implemented important updates to the management of private assets. At the same time, we've addressed a series of bugs and made several improvements to enhance your experience. Dive in!
Updates Related to Private Assets
To enhance content integrity and discourage the sharing of unlicensed material (e.g., illicitly obtained art), we've implemented several safeguards around maps containing private assets (i.e., user-uploaded art).
Key updates include:
Maps featuring private assets can no longer be set to "clonable" on the Explore Page. In order to make a map cloneable, all private assets must be removed. Maps previously made public that contain private assets are now designated as unclonable.
Very old maps created with an old version of our software that lack a stored command history are also now unclonable, as we cannot determine if these maps contain private assets. All public maps from version 0.9 are now marked as unclonable.
When loading a cloned map (from another user) containing private assets, a pop-up will automatically appear asking to remove these assets.
We've added a "Remove Private Assets" option in the top left menu of the editor, providing a quick way for users to clear all private assets from a map.
There's no need for you to take any action - we've got everything covered. Users directly affected by these changes will receive a detailed email, and we'll display relevant information within the platform as necessary.
