Dungeon map art style

I would really like better support for making dungeon maps. I currently use the battle map mode for this, but many of the assets look off when scaled down to dungeon map scale. A dedicated dungeon map style with assets and some features to support creation of dungeon maps would be greatly appreciated, as this is one of the most common map types that I create.

Can you give an example what a dungeon map style is which is not the battlemap style?

Philipp So, the main problem is that a typical dungeon map is on a much smaller scale than a battle map, so to use the battle map art assets in a dungeon map you need to scale them down to very small sizes. For some of the assets, this works fine, for others, it works, but it does not look very good, and for some the art becomes illegible at that size.
The same problem also apply to textures, for example, where the textures can be scaled down to fit the dungeon map scale, but then starts to look very bad, so you have to choose between having the textures look good or having the textures at the right scale.
It is a bit hard for me to be more specific than this, but it often comes up as a frustration while working on dungeon maps.

Luxon What size do you usually make your maps? If you export it at 8k even in small sizes they should be well readable. If we were to make smaller assets, it would be the same effect unless they are more abstract and made for like 10% of their original size.

Philipp The other thing is the selection of stamps. This is much less of a problem, but still a thing. The choice of stamps in the battle map style are meant to be used on maps with a larger scale, so you get many stamps with details that most of the time are too small to put in a dungeon map (such as dirty dishes, for example), and you get rooftops and such that are not normally needed in a dungeon map. This can make navigating the assets a bit combersome.

Philipp I scale them down to about size 20, which I guess is 20%. To me, they don't always look good at that size, and yes, I guess what I'm asking is assets that are a bit more abstract or less detailed to make them clearer at smaller sizes.
Philipp
Luxon I made a quick test of some assets and textures in size 20 on an 8k export. That's not too bad.
That said, we also work on a more abstract style that imitates classic black and white hand drawn maps, maybe this works better for your usecase (release soon)

Philipp It looks good, but that picture is zoomed in on the details. A typical dungeon map would be where you use a square grid of say 50x67, assets scaled down to 20 and the whole thing printed or displayed on a roughly a4 or letter size surface. That's when the assets start looking less good.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new black and white style. That might indeed be a better match for what I'm trying to do.
